International Accreditations and Certifications

The International School of Navarra is a fully licensed school by the Ministry of Education of the Government of Spain and authorised by the Comunidad Foral de Navarra under the school code 31013653.

Although teaching is mainly in English, students also learn Spanish. The subjects of Spanish Language, Literature, and Humanities, taken at both primary and secondary level, follows the requirements of the Department of Education of the Government of Navarra. In these classes, our students cover the same content that is taught in Spanish schools, allowing for a true bilingual and bicultural education. This also allows the homologation of their studies at the end of secondary school.

The school is registered by the Spanish authorities as a “foreign teaching centre” and certified by NIS (NABBS Inspection Service) to teach pupils from Pre-Nursery (2 to 3 years of age) to Year 13 (17 to 18 years of age), according to the English National Curriculum (ENC). ISN is an authorised IB School, offering the IB Program. We are also in the process of seeking accreditation with MSA-CESS, allowing us to award the American High School Diploma in the future.

From secondary school onwards, students prepare for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) which takes place in Years 10 and 11. Through a very rigorous two-year programme that requires hard work and commitment, students receive the international IGCSE certification.

Success at IGCSE allows pupils to gain access to IB Program, a two-year course in Year 12 and 13 which follow a rigorous academic programme, assessed externally. It enables pupils to enter top universities across the world, including Spanish universities.
